Our heart normally beats in a regular fashion to provide enough oxygen carrying
blood for the needs of our body. At rest the heart rate is slower. It is normal
for it to increase in rate with exercise, illness or emotion.
The normal heart beat, is regular and at a rate appropriate for our bodies needs.
If the heart beats too slowly, the brain does not receive enough blood supply
and this can result in a blackout. If the heart beats too fast in an abnormal
fashion the heart does not operate as efficiently as when it beats normally
and the blood pressure can fall, resulting in a blackout.
